R&R 2026 Funding Program for Rural Learners

The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) is once again offering funding to support students and resident members who plan to attend the 33rd Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Conference, taking place in Québec City, QC | April 16–18, 2026.

Funding Details

  • 💰 Total Funding Available: $20,000
  • 👩‍⚕️ Recipients: 25 medical students + 25 residents
  • 💵 Amount per recipient: $400

This program helps reduce registration fees and makes attending R&R more accessible for learners across Canada.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be an SRPC Member.
  • Attend all 3 days of the conference.
  • Be attending or have attended a Canadian medical school.
  • Not be receiving other external funding* to attend.

Note: The ~$1,000 conference fund that most Canadian residents receive annually does not disqualify you.
Learners participating as co-presenters are also eligible.

Students and residents can avoid paying out-of-pocket by following these steps:

  1. Register for the Rural and Remote Medicine Conference by January 20, 2026.
  2. Select “Invoice Me” (no payment required now)
  3. Funding confirmed end of January 2026

  • At the end of January 2026, selected applicants will receive an email from the SRPC confirming their funding award, along with next steps.
  • All learners (funded and non-funded) must pay their registration fee by March 1, 2026.
