Where the Rivers Meet: Building Bridges in Rural Medicine for a Brighter Future

This year’s Rural and Remote conference theme, "Where the Rivers Meet: Building Bridges in Rural Medicine for a Brighter Future," is inspired by the convergence of rivers in Winnipeg, our host city. The theme symbolizes the power of connection—bringing together rural healthcare professionals to share knowledge, foster community, and address the challenges of burnout that have become even more pressing post-pandemic. By building bridges, we aim to create a stronger, more resilient future for rural medicine.

Join us for the 32nd Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Conference:

“I was really excited about presenting at this event. I think there is few places in the country where there is gathers of specifically rural and remote physicians. It is really nice sitting across from people that you can tell through glances or through conversations like you get what it’s like!”

“I believe the degree of camaraderie here is greater than any other conference I have ever been to. Here it really feels like an annual reunion of a thousand of your friends from all across the country from coast to coast to coast. “We have such a great breath of topics to cover really everything that rural physicians do.”

"Coming to R&R Conference really is the highlight of my year. I look forward to it. It's in my calendar year after year after year. The quality of the speakers is exceptional. The quality of the people that attend and the chance to interact with them in a format that's totally different than any other conference that I've been to. There's real connections that are made in the hallways over dinner. There's just an incredible vibe and energy at SRPC Conference every year."

"I first went to one of the Rural and Remote conferences during the pandemic. It was an online conference and I just found all the talks were things I was interested in, even as a young medical learner at the time, and the community then got me more interested. Just because of finding out about the SRPC as a student, that encouraged me to get more involved as a resident and still have that same sense of community, I think even more at a better level now that it's in person."
