Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for the 33rd Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Conference (R&R 2026), taking place April 16–18, 2026 in Quebec City.
The Call for Abstracts is now officially closed. We appreciate the strong interest and the many high-quality submissions received from the rural and remote healthcare community.
Selected presenters will be contacted directly by the Rural & Remote Planning Committee following the peer-review process.

Abstract Categories (for reference)
The Planning Committee is accepting abstract submissions for the following session types:
- Session Lectures (Breakout Sessions)
Engaging 60-minute presentations focused on knowledge-sharing, clinical updates, or innovations in rural and remote healthcare. - Hands-on Workshops (Small Group Learning)
Interactive, skills-based sessions designed for deeper clinical learning. Standard length is 60 minutes, but proposals for 2-hour sessions are welcome. - Add-On Courses (Pre/Post-Conference Offerings)
In-depth training offered before or after the main conference dates. These extended sessions—half-day or full-day(s)—are ideal for immersive learning in specific skill areas, certifications, or procedural training relevant to rural practice.
Peer Review Process (for reference)
All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Rural & Remote Planning Committee. You will only be contacted if your abstract is selected for inclusion in the program.
Submission Requirements (for reference)
Please ensure your abstract includes the following required information:
- Lead Presenter: Name and email
- Co-Presenters: List any co-presenters (if applicable)
- Co-Presenter Pairing: Interested in a SRPC student/resident co-presenter? (Optional but highly encouraged) Review the SRPC’s R&R Co-Presenter Program Terms & Guidelines Here.
- Presentation Details: Title, description, learning objectives, CanMEDS roles, and relevant tags
- Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any conflicts of interest
- Additional Information: Any other relevant details for your abstract
